Albania
Our Interconfessional Old Testament translation project is progressing well; please pray for the translators, for sufficient funding and for the continuing work. The Orthodox Children’s Bible has been warmly received; please pray for our plans to publish a Youth Bible and increase our ministry to children and young people. Praise God for the success of the Lectio Divina programme and pray as we develop more Bible engagement projects. Ask God to bless our staff and families.
Macedonia
Give thanks for God’s guidance as we spread his Word. Pray for work on the Gospel of Luke in braille and on the publication of a pocket edition of the New Testament. Ask that living conditions in our country will improve and remember the joint work of Bible Societies in the Balkan area.
Greece
Last year the state of the economy meant households had difficulty meeting their debts. Austerity measures, reduced salaries and pensions, increased taxes and prices and no immediate prospect of recovery left spirits low. Yet this is when the Bible’s reassurance is needed most and hardship can make people seek spiritual values. An old scholar once said: “Only the Gospel has the power to save Greece”. May this now come to pass.
