Cyprus
Give thanks that despite our island’s tempestuous history, there is broad progress and Scriptures are being freely distributed with support from the Greek Bible Society. Pray about the many immigrants arriving – mainly financial refugees. The Bible can provide them with the security that God himself offers. Pray that he will open doors for the transmission of his Word to places where it was not known before.
Lebanon
We are grateful for relative political stability, allowing wider distribution of the Scriptures and co-ordinated activities with the Church. Thank God for the 25 000 children who have visited Bible World and pray that the renovation of this facility will attract more children. Praise him too for our weekly television programme for young people and for the thousands of students who visit our Books for Life resource centre. Pray for our bridge-building Relief and Scriptures programmes among underprivileged communities.
Turkey
We praise God for his protection last year when the Church suffered another martyrdom. We are grateful for opportunities such as advertising products in newspapers and on national television. We are thankful for new Turkish and Kurdish audio products. A long-term project, the first Turkish Bible Dictionary, is nearing completion. Pray that we have the funds to publish it on time and that it will reach many people.
