Gulf States
Give thanks for successful Scripture distribution during the 2010 Year of the Migrant Worker. Praise God too for successful literacy initiatives and for work among Arabic-speaking churches. Pray for the new resource centres due to open soon and for the success of the many other projects we are planning this year.
Iraq
We thank God for Bible work here. Despite the difficulties, there is a growing need for Scriptures. Please continue to pray for persecuted Christians: thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes to safety. Pray for our holistic programme with them, that God’s Word will give them encouragement and hope. Pray also for the safety of our teams as they travel around serving the churches and meeting Bible needs.
Syria
Give thanks for the unique role that we are undertaking, while many other ministries are curtailing their activities. We praise God for our new youth Resource Centre in Damascus and other work with young people. Pray for our recently expanded team and for the development of our new structure. We thank God that distributing Scriptures remains our priority. Please pray for our role as a meeting ground for the Church.
