Bibles for our neighbouring countries
Objective
To help Bible Societies in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini with their task of making Bibles available.
Background
- These Bible Societies are struggling financially.
- Organised Bible work in these countries was initiated by the Bible Society of South Africa.
- Some of our languages are also spoken in these countries, for example Afrikaans in Namibia, Sesotho in Lesotho, Setswana in Botswana and Siswati in Eswatini.
- By making Bibles available to the Bible Societies in our neighbouring countries as cost effectively as possible we help them to fulfil their task.
Expected impact
- Bible Societies in our neighbouring countries can make Bibles available at affordable prices.
- More people in these countries will be able to obtain a Bible.
