that was highlighted in a meeting
between Rev Dirk Gevers, CEO of
the Bible Society, and the Chief
Justice of the Republic of South
Africa, the Honourable Chief Justice
Mogoeng Mogoeng with the topic of
Justice through the lens of the Bible
.
The Chief Justice was scheduled
to speak at an United Bible Societies
conference that was to be held in Cape
Town in June before the Covid-19 pan-
demic thwarted the plans.
However, the address was done
as part of a Zoom meeting which was
live-streamed with many more people
being able to see and hear it.
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng’s
passion for both the Word and justice
quickly became apparent. “The Bible is
at the centre of any form of real justice
we can think about,” he emphatically
said.
Quoting various passages from the
Bible, the Chief Justice explained how
true justice rested on the godly principles
of love, truth, peace, mercy and gene
rosity, the very qualities of God himself.
